Firestarters

Welcome to The Gathering By The Bay!  We are a network of house churches in Santa Cruz, San Jose, and Monterey, California that have encountered the radical goodness of Jesus.  We love meeting together, and we love welcoming everyone no matter where they are on their spiritual journey. Our primary way of being church is in small, home-based communities (house churches) that meet weekly. We also have larger, monthly meetings where all the house churches come together to celebrate.

At The Gathering, we realize that the whole concept of church can be intimidating for newcomers. That is part of why we are committed to being church differently — why our primary way of being church is in small, casual, home-based meetings. These meetings are natural, safe places to begin to get to know Jesus.  There’s usually kids playing, conversations, community, questions, music, and lots of good food!  We believe that these venues provide a natural space to explore Jesus, experience His life-changing goodness together, and to bless our world.
